All LASEK, All The Time

Here at The Ophthalmic Center in East Setauket, Long Island, New York we have moved away from performing the cutting procedure known as LASIK. We are now exclusively performing LASEK!
LASEK has been proven to be an overall safer and healthier option for laser vision correction. With LASEK, a bladeless procedure, there is no cutting of the cornea and thus no flap is created. Most of the compications due to LASIK suregry were complications of either making a flap, having a flap shift after surgery, or even possible infections underneath the flap. Instead, a small amount of tissue is removed from the cornea and your CustomVue guided laser treatment is applied directly to your eye!
