It’s a miracle; that’s the bottom line.

I had been wearing glasses in order to clearly see distance since the age of twelve, with the prescriptions becoming increasingly stronger over the years. At age thirty, I began to require glasses in order to read.

Now sixty-eight, I took the recommendations of friends and went to see Dr. Basilice. After extensive testing, I was diagnosed with cataracts and excessive pressure in both eyes. The remedy: Remove the cataracts and implant remarkable lenses (allowing for the elimination of the need for glasses for both far and near vision!) and implant a stent for each eye to reduce the pressure.

It is indeed a marvel that this is able to be done – and Dr. Basilice, an experienced professional possessed of skill and compassion, is the man to do it.

The Ophthalmic Center is a first-rate operation throughout. The training, care and friendliness of all the various personnel is extraordinary.

Again, it’s a miracle!

N.B. It should be mentioned that all of the above procedures were entirely pain free – and I am a confirmed coward!

Just to wake up and be able to see the clock is wonderful. I see better now than I did with my contacts! It is an unbelievable feeling to be able to see the T.V., read street signs, see my son on the football field, all knowing I am seeing without the aid of glasses or contacts. I have worn glasses since 8 years old! I feel like I have been granted membership into the elite group of people who have have always had 20/20 vision. I will now be able to see when I swim, when I wake up during the night with one of my children. I won’t have to do the nightly contact removal/cleaning ritual.

Glasses to me have been a major handicap. Now I can work out at the gym without glasses sliding off or fogging up. When you go in and out of the cold, glasses fog up. Taking a shower and being able to see is terrific-as well as waking up in the morning. It’s great!!
